11th Annual Treasure Valley Business Breakfast - Building Community through Creativity with Kris Komori of KIN Boise, College of Idaho '05 Kris Komori, co-owner of KIN in downtown Boise, made history in 2023 as the first Idaho chef to win the prestigious James Beard Award. After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2005 with a degree in biology, Kris decided that culinary school, not medical school, would be his next destination. Prior to winning the James Beard award, he has been a semi-finalist five times. Kris was recognized as Distinguished Alumni Award winner in 2018. He was also a recipient of the Key to the City of Boise, presented by mayor Lauren McLean, for his contributions to the community. Donations at any level to the Business & Accounting Department, in association with this event, will go directly to benefit students’ experiential learning. Limited availability.
